Retreats & Rest

Why we ask you to unplug

July 2026

Pasture, creek, and red barns tucked into a Blue Ridge hollow

By the second morning, something shifts. Women who arrived checking a screen out of habit start noticing the creek instead. Conversations get longer. Sentences get slower. Nobody is performing anything.

We do not ask you to unplug to make a point. We ask because the nervous system cannot fully settle while it is being interrupted every few minutes, and because three uninterrupted days is roughly how long it takes for most people to stop bracing.

What fills the space is not a packed schedule. Everything at Free Holler is intentional, but not everything is scheduled. There are meals, practices, and long open hours where the only thing asked of you is to be here.

A natural next step
